Who is Israel?
The Kingdom of Israel was divided into two kingdoms by God (1 Kings 12:3-4, 13-16) because of Solomon's and Israel's idolatry (1 Kings 11:29-33), into the Kingdom of Israel, also called the Northern Kingdom, Ephraim, and House of Israel, and the Kingdom of Judah, also called the Southern Kingdom, Judah, The House of Judah, and the Jews.
God divorced Israel because of her idolatry and sent her away into exile (Jeremiah 3:8) using Tiglath-Pileser III and Shalmaneser V, and Sargon II from 740-722 BC.
The exiled Israelites were scattered over the Assyrian empire and lost to history. Many theories circulate on who Israel is, but no scholarly consensus has been reached.
We believe that Israel can be identified by the seven judgements that were sent against them and one promise that was made.
Judgement 1: Walk in Lawlessness (Romans 5:12, Romans 6:16, John 8:34, 1 John 3:4).
Judgement 2: Walk in idolatry (Deuteronomy 28:36).
Judgement 3: Walk in darkness (Lamentations 3:1-2, Psalm 82:5, Proverbs 2:13, Proverbs 6:23, Psalm 119:104-105, Isaiah 8:20).
Judgement 4: Removal of the Sabbath (sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday, see Genesis 2:2-3) (Hosea 2:11, Lamentations 2:6).
Judgement 5: Removal of the Feasts of the Lord (Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles) (Hosea 2:11, Lamentations 2:6).
Judgement 6: Removal of the altar and sacrifices (Amos 5:21-23, Hosea 3:4).
Judgement 7: Made unclean (Hosea 9:3, Psalm 69:22).
Promise: "In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed" (Genesis 22:18), we know that the Seed is Yeshua (Galatians 3:16). Thus through Yeshua all the nations of the earth would be blessed. This blessing come through faith on the Gentiles (nations) (Galatians 3:14).
Thus Israel must be those who reject the law, walk in idolatry, walk in darkness, reject the Sabbath, reject the Feasts, reject the sacrifices and altar, walk in uncleanness, but also believe in Yeshua. Thus we believe many of scattered Israel are the Church.
Scattered Israel (Jeremiah 50:4-7, Matthew 15:24) will return one day to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 10:20-22, 11:10-16, 35:1-10, 44:21-23, 51:1-16, Jeremiah 3:12-4:2, 12:14-15, 16:14-16, 30:3-24, 31:1-14, 31:31-36, 33:7-8, 14-26, 46:27-28, Ezekiel 11:16-21, 20:33-44, 28:25-26, 36:21-38, 39:21-29, Hosea 1:2-2:1, 2:14-23, 3:4-5, 6:1-3, 14:1-9, Amos 9:14-15, Zechariah 10:6-12) and be united with Judah under their King Yeshua (Ezekiel 37:15-28).
Yahweh (The LORD)
Scripture has laid out several attributes of Yahweh, which we believe. However, we also believe that no man can fully understand the nature of Him. It is in this light that we will lay out what we believe to be true.
Yahweh is "Echad" (One) (Deuteronomy 6:4). We believe this refers to the community and relationship between the Father, Yeshua (John 10:30) and the Holy Spirit.
Yahweh is the name of the Father, but it is also the name of the Son (John 5:43).
The Father is the Ancient of Days (Daniel 7:9).
Yeshua (Jesus)
Yeshua is submitted to the Father (John 5:30).
Yeshua is Yahweh in the flesh (Luke 1:17, 76).
Yeshua is Elohim (John 1:1, Luke 3:4 and Isaiah 40:3).
Yeshua is the Son of Man (Daniel 7:13, John 3:13).
Yeshua is the Messiah (Luke 2:11, John 1:41, John 4:25-26).
Yeshua is the King (John 1:49, John 12:13).
Yeshua is the High Priest (Hebrews 2:17).
Yeshua is the Savior (Luke 2:11, 2 Peter 1:1, 1 John 4:14).
Yeshua is the Judge (James 4:12).
Yeshua is the Lawgiver (James 4:12).
We reject the idea that you have to pronounce His name in a certain way to be saved. Yahweh created all men, and can hear and speak every language. He does not damn or reject His children because they cannot pronounce a word in Hebrew, Greek, Latin, or any other language.
The Ruach (Holy Spirit)
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Yahweh (Matthew 3:16, 1 Corinthians 3:16, Ephesians 4:30).
He manifests Himself as the 7 Spirits of Elohim (Zechariah 4:2, Revelation 4:5).
Yeshua was anointed and filled by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:16-17).
The Disciples were anointed and filled by the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4).
The Holy Spirit is active and at work today.
There is coming another outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the last days (Joel 2:28-32).
The Oneness of God
We believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe they are Echad (One) in three persons.
We believe that they are of the same essence and substance.
Sin
Sin is breaking the Torah (1 John 3:4).
All of mankind have sinned (Romans 3:23).
All of humanity are wicked (Jeremiah 17:9).
The Torah shows us what sin is (Romans 7:7).
We must repent of sin (Acts 3:19, Acts 17:30).
There are sins leading to death, and sins not leading to death (1 John 5:16-17).
There are intentional sins and unintentional sins.
There is not forgiveness of intentional sins apart from salvation through Yeshua.
The Cross
The cross is foolish to those who are not saved (1 Corinthians 1:18).
The cross is an offense to the unsaved (Galatians 5:11).
We should boast in the work of the cross (Galatians 6:14).
We have been reconciled to God by the cross (Ephesians 2:14-18).
We have peace because of the cross (Colossians 1:20).
Our sins were wiped out by the cross (Colossians 2:13-14).
It is through the work of the cross that we can receive salvation.
Without the cross there would be no hope for salvation.
Salvation from sin
Salvation comes by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8).
Salvation is a free gift (Romans 5:15-18).
We are not saved by the Torah (Romans 3:28, Galatians 2:16).
Salvation only comes through Yeshua (Acts 4:12).
Salvation comes when we confess that Yeshua is Yahweh (The LORD), and believe that He died and was raised from the grave (Romans 10:9).
There is no formula for salvation, it is a mighty and mysterious act of God.
We can lose our salvation if we permanently reject Yeshua.
The Bible
Scripture is inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16).
Scripture should be used for doctrine, for proof of truth, restoration of righteousness, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).
Scripture cannot be abolished or taken away (John 10:35).
Scripture should not be added to.
Although the term Scripture in the Bible is a reference to the Old Testament, because the New Testament was not yet written, we believe the New Testament also falls under the definition of Scripture, since it is the written word of God.
We use the terms Scripture and Bible interchangeably.
The Torah
The Torah is the often called the "law" but is better translated as "instructions".
The Torah includes the commands, judgements and statutes found in Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
The Torah is part of the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-33).
The Torah is not bondage (1 John 5:3).
The Torah is for every believer in Yeshua.
We keep the Torah because we love Him (Exodus 20:6, John 14:15).
On the Name of Yeshua
In this site, we use the name Yeshua instead of Jesus. In Hebrew, we have two names, Yehoshua and the short form Yeshua. Yeshua is the name most often used during the time of Jesus. Yehoshua means “Yahweh is salvation” and Yeshua means “Yahweh saves” or “salvation.” Both Yehoshua and Yeshua can be translated into English as Joshua. Knowing this, some might ask how we came to use “Jesus.”
The Hebrew name Yeshua when translated into Greek is Iesous. The Greek name Iesous when translated to Latin is Iesu which was changed to Iesus. Later the “J” was added and the name was changed to Jesu or Jesus. Jesus then is a transliteration of the Hebrew name Yeshua into Greek, then Latin, then English.
I want to stress here that there is nothing wrong with saying “Jesus” or “Yeshua.” Yeshua is more accurate, but some may feel more comfortable using Jesus, being more familiar with it. Either is fine. His name is sacred to us, however, His name is not a sacred object that we can use to manipulate the Father. He speaks all languages, thus He understands and responds to Jesus or Yeshua. Those in other countries say His name in their language and that is fine as well.
On the Name of Yahweh
I have used Yahweh in place of YHVH (sometimes written as YHWH). YHVH is the name of God that was given to Moses when he was going to Israel. In the English Bible, it is usually used as The LORD. This is a way of letting the reader know that His name is being used. There are many debates over how to pronounce YHVH, and it is not my intent to enter into this debate. I will not argue about this because the truth is, we have lost the pronunciation. We can guess and theorize, but no one knows for sure. The name Yahweh is used by some scholars I respect, and so I chose to use it. However, when Yeshua returns, He will let us know what to say and how to say it. Until then, let us walk in peace with each other and not fight over such trivial things.
